CASES-23

Patient that 8 years ago had come to Antalya from Russia with her family. Trauma to the upper anterior teeth occurred during playing in the aquapark at the hotel. Tooth 21 has a serious intrusion to the base of the nose. Since the incident occurred on the second day of Ramadan holiday, he admitted to me two days later after the trauma. The family would be here for 15 days and then return to Russia. Radiographic images showed that the root developed to a great extent but the apical closure was not complete. If we discuss the treatment options for 2 weeks under our supervision; 1- Spontaneous eruption; it is a method we use in undeveloped teeth, but in such a severe intrusion and in a case root development is completed to a large extent, only partial eruption can be observed. 2- Orthodontic extrusion; takes some time to be successful. 3- Surgical extrusion; quick results are obtained and successful. We chose surgical extrusion as a treatment option, and our surgeon Dr Dt Onur Güneş has surgically extruded and sutured. Afterwards, we performed splint with Dt Sevgi Budak in the same visit. We did splint up to the first little molars, but after 15 days, we saw that it was desimanted from the deciduous teeth and decided to continue with the support of the adjacent permanent teeth. We decided total splint duration was 8 weeks. Then, by follow-up, it will be clear whether or not a channel is required. Our patient is now entrusted to Russian dentists. Note: Composite restoration of the tooth was not performed because the patient's insurance contain only emergency procedures.
